The Death of Ratiomaster I would just like to notify everyone here that the original Ratiomaster program (yes the one that NRPG ratiomaster was derived from) is about to die. The devs disappeared months ago and the program has never been updated for an even longer period of time. Recently an admin deleted his own account and those of the devs before he left. It has been over a week since he did this and not so much as a whisper from the devs. Bad omens indeed.
So If any of you were once members and would like to pay your last respects please pop over to the forum, You can say hi to the 7 or so active members left too if you like http://www.moofdev.org/forums/. If you don't have an account and would like to say sianara by all means please sign up.
Ratiomaster is dead, long live NRPG ratiomaster!!!!
(Or something along those lines I suppose)

Show your respects to RatioMaster (the person) and JTS and to their forum and programs!
This topic is now announcement!

We all loved RM till it was alive, didnt we.
Now that RM seems to be dying, NRPG is the best option.
Anyway we sure respect Mr RM and JTS. They stopped supporting RM, thats their personal decision. It was a freeware, so cant blame them for not supporting it.
Anyway, I used RM for a while, still use it. But going to check NRPG. Heard a lot about it from the developers of RM and other members.

Good thing for RM to kick things off for NRPG. But ever since NRPG was released there was never a need for RM anymore. Most likely, NRPG was the culprit for RM's death :P

Re: The Death of Ratiomaster ...the original Ratiomaster program (yes the one that NRPG ratiomaster was derived from) ...
was NPRG built on RM's source? or was NPRG built from the scratch?
just wondering... :)

NRPG RatioMaster is based on RatioMaster 1.4
NRPG RatioMaster 0.50-alpha1 is built from the scratch.

Meh! Update:
I should of done this sooner but I guess I just wanted to see how things panned out.
JTS has decided not to carry on with development of Ratiomaster as IRL he has too much to take care of. Ratiomaster himself says he may update the program when the need arises but I wouldn't hold your breath.
They both started the forum as a place for devs to discuss, help and share all things to do with programming. RM made a cheating program to see if it could be done as he was always fascinated with bittorrent ( His first experiments were with hacking bittorrent clients). He felt it was unfair that people could not really maintain more than a 0.5:1 ratio on big trackers without busting there guts out to get higher. He saw it more as a supplement to torrenting than as an outright cheating tool. Unfortunately he never foresaw that cheaters would flock to the forums by the truckload and turn what was supposed to be a forum for developers into a cheaters forum. They now feel disillusioned by the whole thing and feel that the moofdev name will only ever be synonymous with Ratio cheating. They have kept the forums open but the party is over. If somebody puts a post up once a day nowadays we feel lucky. We are a ghost town.
Oh well, no need to mourn. You have an excellent program here that seems to have by far outstripped it's geriatric predecessor. I Personally wish NRPG and his team all the sucess for the future.
